The direction has annoyed me for a while, because you only see half the choreography. That's why I liked the Momokuno UST so much; with just one camera you can see how synchronized their formations are.

But I always assumed this was on purpose: go to the concerts to see the dancing, buy the discs to see the faces. Twice the income!

the 5th Dimension dvd was especially terrible about that. Like, holy crap, just hold a camera angle for a second or two and stop flipping around.

That's why I hope their 2015 monthly zepp lives will be streamed just like their 2011-2012 zepp tour

The 5th Dimension and GOUNN tours have quicker cuts than the rest of their concerts, which can get annoying.

In general I'm happy with the way they edit the concerts (because I know it can be waaaaaaaaaaay worse). But I agree that to really see the dances you need a single camara filming the whole show like in some of their older Ustreams.

I'm still surprised when they show a part of a dance I've never seen before even if I've seen it performed a thousand times. And sometimes I get angry when I know there's a dance move I like but they're not showing it.

What do the individual members of ももクロ say when they introduce themselves? Can you write it in romanji and then translate it?
    Thanks!!!

Ehh...I guess everyone has their preferences.

Personally I love the editing of their live concert recordings....in fact I'd even say it's one of their strongest selling points.

The director Sasaki Atsunori has a background in filming for television, and it really shows. They always put emphasis on the expressions of the girls, main choreography, and crowd interaction, while cutting away the parts that are relatively unimportant. You really get a sense that you're watching an entire "show" instead of just a recording

GOUNN tour was especially brilliant in terms of unique camera angles and lighting. The whole thing just screams high production quality.

In contrast, watching something like the Moretsu tour for me was just....bland.

I guess the best solution would be what was said in a comment above, where they also include a master shot of a single camera, though I highly doubt they'll do something like that.

I think a lot of them are fine; the 5th Dimension one being one of the few that I think crossed into "hard to watch" territory.

Close-ups are fine, but there are songs where they trade off lines so fast that cutting to each girl as they say one word is just silly.

Explaining how I feel about the GOUNN tour is difficult in english. I love the camera angles and the lighting but it all happens too fast. It's funny because the first time I watched it I noticed it had fast cuts but they were bearable. But then I watched it a day a was a bit tired and it was like my mind could't process everything.

Considering how relaxed and spiritual the theme for the GOUNN tour is, I would have made slower cuts and dwelled a bit more on each scene.

what a great site, soo the official romanization is Pinky JOHNS? My whole life is a lie lol
love the design though, and I'm little disappointed that they didn't include Miyu, Yukina, and co. in their history timeline.

The history broadcast last night was just snippets from concert DVDs, right? No comments or anything?

^ I saw it on JPS too but looking at the setlist is was all from old concerts, the only thing I think it was new was Naitemo Iindayo from Kokuritsu. But we're getting it soon so I'm not spending HDD space on it.

For someone who hasn't seen any Momoclo concerts it's probably a good way to start since it has one song from each of their mayor concerts.
