At this point, they've beaten the first week sales for any of Platinum-Era Morning Musume's singles, and then some (mid 2004 to mid-2012). Admittedly, MoMusu was going through a slump during that time*, but Ebichu is on the way up (and still building its image from the ground up), so I think the comparison is a very positive one.

*Incidentally, the fact that the current MoMusu reinvented itself and beat the slump is a not-so-minor miracle in its own right, and one that fans of any idol group should find inspiring -- it ain't over 'til it's over.

If they just changed that it makes no sense at all, specially now that some people might want to check them out after Music Station. The MV doesn't have that many views anyway, it might have to do with the fact that the 5572320 MV came out a few days after it.
