The parts of the individual members are obviously sung live, but what's with the segments where everyone in the group is singing, for example those which start at 1:10 or 2:22?

I think sometimes they still use a backtrack for the parts where they all sing. However, the backtrack is not loud enough so they still need to sing or it'll sound weird. A lot of groups do this and you can notice that when none of the members are really singing the volume drops.

As for Ebichu I think they use it to give the chorus a more even sound. One thing about them is that their solos sound amazing but they still struggle to harmonize. That's the other way around with Momoclo, who I find are great at singing together but struggle on the solos.

I think most of idol groups use backtrack on parts where they all sing together. Some use it on solo parts as well. Stardust groups usually have backtrack on choruses only, Momoclo sometimes goes full live especially on small concerts.

The only group I know that doesnt use backtrack is Tokyo Girls' Style, and probably others but I can't remember right now.
