Kanako's guitar is a normal acoustic guitar with some signatures? and probably has an amp output. The others are electric.

The others seem unusually thick. I'd guess they're probably semi-hollow body guitars. Or maybe super shallow acoustics? They're shaped like the latter, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's the case.

Heck, they're probably just props. I've never seen a guitar that looks like that in the 20 years I've been playing.

Thanks, I thought it might have been the shadows in the pic that made Kanako's looks different. And I haven't been able to see the video yet.

The VG symbol is the defining mark, with the very small knob next to the bridge. It's part of the VG-EAR (Electric Acoustic Revolution) Series of guitars, apparently only in Japan?

Huh. thanks for the links. Yeah, that's definitely an acoustic/electric. Weird design, being that thin. I have a shallow-body a/e guitar that's twice as thick and it sounds kind of thin because the body isn't deep enough. I want to hear what those things sound like now...

A-rin is actually holding a real chord (Gmaj); the rest look like they have no idea what they're doing. The show where they learn to play should be pretty entertaining.

I'm pretty certain Kanako is holding one of these in the video above. You can clearly see the inside is the lighter color of the wood, and the VG logo is visible inside. I think the body is also visibly smaller.
