Edit: just saw the idol earnings ranking eyeless posted. It's impressive that they're so high considering they basically have no solo projects, Kanako has done more tv shows and magazines so it's reasonable that she is higher. Yet I don't understand the gap between the others... -

Assuming those figures are no more or less wrong than what Google spits out, they are disastrously low compared with non-idol entertainers, especially male, who seem to put in a lot fewer hours. -
