Japan's new cabinet has been dubbed the "Momoclo cabinet"

Quote from the news statement:
"Just as Momoclo are always giving their best in dancing and singing, we hope to give our best and be active in a positive direction"
From what I can tell, the relation to Momoclo is mostly because their are going to be 5 female members in the cabinet
The Prime Minister has also invited them to a Cherry Blossom viewing event before.

Times like this (articles like that SpoNichi one) remind me just how gross the obvious sexism gets in Japan.
The idea of "5 women" in the cabinet is so unbelievable to the writers that they search out people to say it's for "this reason" or "that reason" or say it's because Abe wants his cabinet meetings to be more beautiful, or compare these incredibly important politicians and bureaucrats to entertainers (even if they're entertainers I love). *barf* -

Indeed.
But other countries are not really better, despite shallow proclamations.
Moreover I would dare to add that, in comparative terms of self-knowledge and general "awareness", those specific "entertainers" are probably more meaningful (willingly or not), for the political discourse, than some admittedly important bureaucrats.
We could introduce here a sort of paradoxical "AKB0048"-style (or perhaps BiS-style, on totally different ground) provocation about "idol" and "post-idol" concepts.
It would be almost surely out of place, but not entirely silly, just as the anime itself is not. -

There is this one video right here that shows her tap dancing when she mentions it during the girls' introductions back in '08
